THT assembly (Through-Hole Technology), or through-hole technology, is a technology for assembling electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCB). The technology consists in inserting elements with leads through metallized holes in the PCB, and then soldering them from the other side of the PCB. Elements can be placed by hand or by machine. Soldering can also be done manually or by machine (wave soldering).
Manual assembly is still a frequently used solution among companies dealing with contract assembly of electronics. However, when we are dealing with a large-scale order, it is worth considering the introduction of machine assembly.
